Kathrin André - Painting

Kathrin André. A passionate painter. She lives and works on Lake Tegernsee. Until 2015, she worked as an interior designer. From 2015 to 2018, she studied painting and drawing under Prof. Markus Lüpertz at the Academy of Fine Arts Kolbermoor. Since then, she has devoted herself exclusively to painting and has participated in numerous exhibitions.

Kathrin André’s works are a vibrant interplay of color, movement, and emotion. Each painting embodies a desire for transformation—an expression of her energy and her trust in the creative process. For her, painting is not a rigid craft, but a living dialogue between inner feeling and outward expression.

Her paintings often originate from sketches in chalk, charcoal, or pencil, inspired by her own photographs. She works wherever the light takes her: in Italy in the summer, in northern Germany in the winter, and on Lake Tegernsee in between. She prepares the canvases with luminous acrylic paints. These layers of color remain vibrant in the background, lending her works depth and radiant accents.

Before applying water-soluble oil paints to the canvas, she creates an initial composition. Then a constant transformation begins: colors are applied, blurred, removed with rags or sponges, altered, and reapplied. And when the brush isn’t enough, she uses her fingers to model forms and content until they become tangible. This is how she creates works that defy explanation and must be experienced.

Irmgard Merkens - Painting

Irmgard Merkens lived and worked in Berlin until 2025. Today she lives in North Rhine-Westphalia. After ten years working in chemical technology, she studied at the Berlin University of the Arts (1979–1984). Alongside her artistic practice, she taught painting and was active in renowned artists’ associations, including serving as chair of the Association of Berlin Women Artists.

Merkens engages intensively with the representation of the human figure. Her works in acrylic, chalk, pigment, and graphite depict everyday scenes, encounters, and travel impressions. Her works from the 1980s and 1990s, in particular, are characterized by their immediate presence and precise observation. She developed a unique visual language that combines observation and condensation. In portraits and everyday scenes—often set in urban or public spaces—a poetic balance of distance and intimacy emerges.

The images presented here from this period reflect travels to Canada, Hungary, and Japan, connecting external impressions with inner resonances. People appear simultaneously close and distant, captured in moments of quiet presence. Color and line are reduced, yet highly expressive. Thus, the works become poetic notes that capture the fleeting and simultaneously reveal a universal human experience.

Stefano Bosis - Painting

Stefano Bosis, born in Milan, lives and works in Berlin. He studied Digital Communication at the Academy of Fine Arts in Milan and gained diverse experience in theater, street art, film, and digital media before dedicating himself to painting, which he has made his core discipline.

Bosis’s work exists at the intersection of Expressionism, Surrealism, and Abstraction—his large-scale, luminous oil paintings resemble landscapes of the soul, where dream, emotion, and reality merge. He creates scenes that oscillate between childhood memory and metaphysical vision: flying carpets, stars, embraces that extend into the cosmic.
His technique is based on powerful, almost visceral color painting. Oil paint spreads across the canvas like vibrant energy, forming luminous lava or dripping physicality – intense, impulsive, emotionally charged. He is increasingly undergoing a transformation towards abstraction, in which pure color, rhythm, and emotional expression take center stage.

His paintings offer a visual experience that combines intuitive empathy with expressive density and simultaneously invites emotional resonance.

Karol Broniatowski - Sculpture

Karol Broniatowski lives and works in Berlin. Born in Łódź, he gained early recognition for his “newspaper figures,” with which he represented Poland at the 1972 Venice Biennale. The core of his work is the exploration of humankind in its physical presence—constantly in motion, fragmented, yet possessing a constant inner dynamism. The exhibition features impressive bronze sculptures as well as three recent plaster sculptures that make his powerful, figurative language tangible in diverse materials.

Broniatowski’s process-oriented thinking is evident in his figures: form emerges through cutting, subtraction, and alteration—the more the external form dissolves, the more clearly the inner message becomes apparent. His bronze sculptures condense this approach; they appear as snapshots of an ongoing creative process.

New to the collection are the three plaster sculptures. For Broniatowski, plaster is not merely a classic modeling material—rather, it offers a more immediate, raw tactile quality than bronze and forges a unique link between form and expression. The combination of bronze and plaster creates a compelling dialogue between materials: the plaster sculptures allow the viewer to simultaneously experience the creative moment and the rational process of its creation—transparency, fragility, and raw directness meet enduring presence and lasting form.

Broniatowski’s work is characterized by the interplay between positive and negative space, figure and loss of form, and the transition from interior to exterior. His works invite viewers to experience this transition not only visually but also haptically—tangibly in bronze, visibly in plaster.

Fabiana Gabaskallás - Painting

Fabiana Gabaskallás lives and works in São Paulo. A physician, she has always been an artist as well, developing a practice that blends scientific precision with artistic imagination. She says of herself: “Perhaps one day I can stop working as a doctor. But I will never stop painting. Perhaps I will die painting….”

Gabaskallás works on a large scale with vibrant acrylic and oil paints. Her paintings possess a presence that transcends mere visual experience. They depict gardens, rainforests, and flowers. Gabaskallás also explores historical events.

With the children’s portraits shown here, she addresses a forgotten chapter of Portuguese-Brazilian colonial history. She developed a special technique for these works, applying and then removing paint. This achieves both complexity and lightness. They almost resemble ancestral portraits.

Fabiana Gabaskallá’s works are represented in numerous international collections.

expertise

Since my university days, I have been involved with art—as a collector, a visitor, and a curious observer. My international career and numerous stays abroad have given me the opportunity to visit the world’s most prestigious museums, galleries, and art fairs. I have experienced the creativity of artists in their studios and shared in the excitement of auctions.

My passion for art led me to Sotheby’s Institute of Art in London, where I complemented my business experience with invaluable art expertise. In 2021, I successfully completed the Art & Business semester-long course there, which elevated my relationship with art to a whole new level.

Since then, I have worked exclusively in the art market. My experience ranges from collaborating with renowned auction houses to developing a museum shop—both physical and virtual—for a Berlin museum. I also advised a corporate foundation on the sale of its subsidiary collections. In August 2024, I curated my first exhibition of contemporary art at Galerie Grolman. In September 2025, I participated in Positions Berlin and exhibited works by 5 artists.

In December 2025, I will open A Galeria as a showroom for the artists I represent. The gallery is located on the Aliestre Vineyards in Estremoz, Portugal. Here, I will present contemporary art in rotating exhibitions. Estremoz is a medieval town in the Alentejo region, renowned for its culture, fine cuisine, and vineyards.

As an art advisor, I help individuals find artworks that reflect their personality and evoke emotions. As an art connoisseur and experienced entrepreneur, I am not only on the lookout for exceptional, aesthetically stunning artworks. I also always ensure that the artworks retain their value and—with a bit of luck—have the potential to appreciate in value.

Whether you wish to acquire, organize, or sell artworks, I am here to advise you, drawing on my expertise, extensive business experience, and keen sense of value, trends, and aesthetics.

CV

Born and raised in Berlin, I successfully completed my studies in Business Administration here in 1994, graduating with a degree in Business Administration. After gaining initial experience in my parents’ family business and the birth of our son, I pursued a career in the international timber trade. Together with my husband, I built what is now an internationally operating timber wholesaler with subsidiaries in the USA and England. My curiosity and openness to new challenges have repeatedly led me to exciting international projects, taking me to distant lands and vibrant cities.

Living in New York and London afforded me fascinating insights into the dynamic art scenes of these metropolises. My travels frequently take me to Portugal – I feel equally at home in the art world of Lisbon as I do in Berlin. The cultural diversity of both worlds inspires and accompanies me.
